Big Ladder Fall - Ouch!!

On Monday January 31, 2022, Albert fell off a ladder. in the rain, while working on a gutter.  The ladder was setup just beyond that large stream of water coming off the roof. This is his update.

Note: The new House of Vancoction will soon be in the carriage house in the background!

The left hand side of the gutter is still not attached. I have to wait till I’m moving a little better.

I was holding onto the soffit and roof on the right, about 12 ft up, and my feet were about 6-7 ft off the ground. The ladder felt stable when I checked it on the ground. Then when I climbed up and held the soffit, the upper right corner of the ladder dropped down about 4" down into a little silted sink hole, and I went for a ride.  My left hip area hit the ladder so hard it bent the ladder and broke one of the welds on the bottom step.

Not the broken bottom step. The ladder still won’t close as the leg of it is twisted from my 200lb impact on it.

After my screaming bloody murder, and my lil' run, every time I get hurt I seem to break into a jog, not sure why, Vanessa guided me into the house.  I think I was in shock.  She applied the Simple Salve far and wide, and heavy.  I haven't been moving real great, but I have been moving.  It seems the impact ripped up the muscles around my left side, close to my spine, and up around my sternum and diaphragm.

Ladder fall bruise eased with Vancoction

Just above my hip on my left side. Notice the bruised imprint of the side of the ladder.

Friday, February 4th, I'm finally starting to be able to take deep, full breaths, and I'm not cringing in pain every time I have to bend over or sit up. I also believe that one of the reasons why the salve took down the swelling as well as it did was because I rubbed it heavy up and around my neck down into my collarbone. Check this link to see why Vancoction helps with lymphatic drainage. Click here.

I use the salve everyday, and for the past 4 years I have practiced Wim Hof just about every morning before I get out of bed.  I take full deep inhales for 90 seconds, and then exhale everything, every last poof of air, and hold it out for as long as I can.  I believe it's made the muscles around my torso stronger.

I'm lucky.
